is there any way to renumber the fields ? i also found that if the plow is touching the edges of the fields you want to combine you can use the hired worker

You should try Ridiculous Dominic 10m adjustable plow, it has a fast version and it also mulches, try it once and you will delete the 6m/9m plow mod.
